BB's Diary #8

Lumsday, 10th of Shadow 211 EoL (part 2)

Dear Diary,

The rest of the day was quiet, as planned. I found some time to talk to my brother. I told him, that I am worried about him and his new powers, that I can see, that he's still overwhelmed by the sheer power behind the new magic. He promised me to take it slow while exercising them to finally be able to control them. Then I told him about Drake and me, that it seems to be more than a fling, that I think that I love him, about our wonderful date and the great sex we had. And what can I say? Trip seems to be really happy for me. I was so relieved. He's just the best brother I could ask for and I won't disappoint him anymore.
In the afternoon we had a small celebration with drinks and barbecue to welcome the new members (Yelena, Shirel and Gwenelle) into the Wolves of Summer. Drake thought that it would be a good time to talk about the issues between Gwenelle and me, but he handled the talk very badly! He ridiculed us and our fight in front of the others. I was so mad at him! He doesn't seem to take me seriously! I won't be his trophy-wife! I've been a trophy all my life, except for Trip, and I'm done with it!
I went to bed angry. Afterward, I finally told Drake why was angry at him, he apologized. We had a long talk about our relation, how complicated it is, and we set boundaries so that the relationship would not interfere too much with his new position and our mission. We then had make-up sex and fell asleep, quite exhausted.
We were woken up by a loud noise. Turned out Saldri, aka Doc, came back from her family emergency. Somehow Shirel had met her in his dream... I did not understand any of those circumstances... We then decided to leave Saldri and Drake alone, so that Drake could explain to her, that the other members of their pack, their family, had died during her absence. She seemed to take it quite well, but Drake thinks, that she simply hasn't realized it yet. Poor thing.
A few moments later a Drow came into the Den and warned us, that we would be attacked in a few minutes. We barely had enough time to get our gear. Birdy took her pack to the second place of attack, while we defended the Den. We won the battle and took one of the attackers hostage. After the fight, Leaf, Drake and I took the hostage and Chandara to the Lagetum . After our return Birdy and Leaf took the first watch, Drake and I took the second. During our watch we decided not to take watches together anymore, to set more boundaries between our relation and our job. Then I nearly told him about the big secret, that Trip is keeping for me, the darkest time of my life... but I realized, that I can't tell him. At least not yet. I just need him and me to be extra careful so that I won't disappoint Trip anymore.

Noxday, 11th of Shadow 211 EoL

In the morning, after Humpen was up, Drake and I caught a couple more hours of sleep, before we were visited by the Lagetum and Silvio .
