Huan Organization in Lyx | World Anvil

Huan

An untitled piece of paper found in a Pathfinder supply cache. It is written in the Trusik script by a steady hand, and has no author listed. The page is torn, but the writing seems to be complete, merely brief.
I have been asked to write down what I remember of my life before things went to shit. Okay.   I was almost a man. I don't how old I was in years, but I was almost as tall as Da, and I'd been helping with the cattle for years already. I'd be taught how to fight, but I wasn't supposed to be allowed into the militia yet. I argued about it, said I was ready, but they told me to wait. So, I waited. Then I was told I'd be sent with all the kids to the cave, and we all know the rest from there. I was told to write down what happened before that.   Our village kept cattle. We were called the Kamor1, or Karamor, or Kamhor, or something like that. I don't remember, which doesn't seem right. I'd known what we were called for over a decade, but those details faded for some reason.   There were two other villages near us. One kept cattle too, and one didn't; I don't know what they did, but I remember Ma never having a good word to say on them. None of the village had a good word to say on any other village, though, so I think that was just normal for us.   The cattle were important. I was taught that alongside my own name.   Names. Ma was named Roan. The whole village talked about her, and about the way she danced. It wasn't like the fancy Lily dancers, it was something important. Something about rains, and stories, and tradition. I don't remember the specifics. I remember telling her I thought those sorts of things were stupid, and that it was more important that I learn to fight than learn stories and dances. I was an idiot.   Da. I don't remember his name. I'm sure it was said in front of me, many times over, but I just don't remember it. He was always just Da.
1What we have pieced together of the base Huan script and intercepted Trusik troop orders indicates the village was likely named Kamor. There were orders that this village and its nearest neighbor- Dansk- be annexed, but they were never carried out, as the Huan strike against Warren 7 happened before the annexation was scheduled.

High Command initiated the Huan Genocide, wiping out nearly all living members of the clan. The Huan have not forgotten this, and actively attempt to kill Consortium soldiers on sight.
