elf
Tall, graceful, and inhumanly beautiful, the elves are a species inextricably entwined with magic. While they are believed to have originated in the primordial wilderness of the Feywild, the majority of modern elves have little to no connection with their fey kin.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are, on average, taller and more slender than most humans. They tend to have a graceful, wiry build, more apparently suited for dancing and acrobatics than warfare. Their ears are long and pointed, their eyes tend to be large and brilliantly colored, and their facial features are delicate and comely by human standards. The hair of the elves tends to be silky, but grows exclusively on the scalp, eyelashes, and eyebrows; elves do not possess body hair of any sort.
Civilization and Culture
History
The first elves to arrive in Lyranthium are known as the Exiles, those who rebelled against the rule of the high fey in the Feywild and either escaped or were expelled (translations are unclear) to the Material Plane approximately 100,000 years ago. Their arrival brought them into conflict with the reptilian races that ruled the surface at the time, but the elves' intrinsic mastery of magic and nature gave them a significant advantage as they built their civilization.
