Sholpan Bey

Sholpan Bey is the chieftain of the Emgen clan of Kochmaki, which is encamped outside the Udyn city walls. He is an aging warrior, certainly over 40 years old, with long, braided hair.
The clan led an attack against the Norik village of Vladykino, which they burnt, and then drove off its population into slavery. It is not known if the bey participated in the attack personally, but as they raid was sponsored by Lord Yaqub, presumably, Sholpan Bey has some sort of relationship with him.
He only appeared once, at a clan reception in honor of Augusta de Urbino, over which he presided. Sholpan Bey spoke with her briefly, stating rather syncretist religious convictions (Gaal, al-Wakim, and Tengri are the same god), and exhibiting a very strong love of kumis.
He appears in Chapter 16.
