Republic of Kingston

The Republic of Kingston is a multinational planetary state located on the planet Kingston. It is a member state of the Second Lordanian Republic, and by extension, of Sol itself. The Republic is divided into an upper and lower house, which convene in the capital city of New Havana. Voting is compulsory within the system, and people are able to vote for their national representatives, and for major Kingston elections.
The Republic of Kingston was founded in 2283 following the collapse of the fascist People's Republic of Lordania that had come to occupy the planet since 2260. Based largely on traditional Lordanian politics, the Kingston government was able to transition from autocratic to democratic following a large scale civil war.
