Elenas

Elenas was a Goliath whose name became a beacon of hope in the dark days following the Maridyn's Wrath. Known for his towering strength, peerless skill in battle, and unshakable devotion to his tribe, Elenas epitomized the virtues of fellowship and selflessness that goliaths hold dear. He was a warrior not for personal glory but for the well-being of his people, and his deeds became legend among the goliath tribes.

Elenas believed that the Divine's judgment through the flood was a call to unity among the faithful, a chance for all species to rebuild the world together. When word spread of Nimdor's kingdom of Kish and its atrocities, Elenas was among the few goliaths who saw the need for action. While others hesitated, wary of the Giants' power, Elenas called for his people to stand alongside the Eladrin and Dwarves in their struggle against Nimdor’s tyranny.

The Call to War

Elenas’ pleas for unity were initially met with resistance. Many goliaths viewed Nimdor’s rule as a matter for other species to resolve, believing that their tribes should remain apart from the conflict. Elenas, however, saw Kish as a blight on the world—a kingdom founded on the rejection of the Divine and the oppression of the weak. He traveled between tribes, urging them to set aside their differences and join the coalition forming against Nimdor. His words, imbued with conviction and faith, eventually swayed several tribes to his cause.

The Battle for Kish

The war against Kish culminated in a massive battle near the capital city, where Nimdor himself led his forces in a final bid to crush the coalition. Elenas fought at the vanguard, his massive frame and unyielding resolve inspiring his allies. With his spear, Elenas cut through the giant’s forces with unparalleled ferocity.

In the heart of the battle, Elenas confronted Nimdor. The clash between the two was said to shake the earth, their blows resounding like thunder. Nimdor’s immense strength and cunning were formidable, bloodying Elenas and beating him almost to death. However, in a stroke of fate, Elenas managed to get a hold of Nimdor's spear, which he put through the giant's head, ending his reign of terror.

The Birth of Elensirae

With Nimdor dead, Elenas cast the giant’s colossal corpse into the Cleft, a deep chasm near Kish’s capital. The act was both symbolic and practical: a rejection of Nimdor’s defiance and a message to all who would follow in his footsteps. It was also an act of closure for those who were oppressed under Nimdor, having themselves seen victims of the giant king cast into the Cleft at his whim. The fall of Nimdor marked the end of Kish.

When the battle ceased, the victorious forces were confronted with the flood of prisoners under the giant king. Elenas took the throne and began a campaign against the remaining giants in the region, judgement as he called it against the giant king's victims. He renamed the kingdom Elensirae, meaning “The Vision of Elenas” in the giant tongue, and declared it a haven for the faithful and the oppressed. The eladrin and dwarves, each of whom and lost many fighting the giants, were given meager reparations or restitution for their losses from the new king, souring their relationship with the new regime. The dwarves returned across the Skyreach Mountains, deciding that the kingdom would never see dwarven influence again. The eladrin returned to their grove, amassing one of the most powerful bastions of eladrin power in the world, the Steel Grove.

The Legacy of Elenas

Under Elenas’ leadership, Elensirae flourished. The goliaths who had once hesitated to oppose the giants now celebrated Elenas as a hero, and his name became synonymous with courage and the fight against the giants. His name is often shouted as a warcry when goliaths go to battle, believing that his name might strike fear into their enemies. Elenas’ deeds are commemorated in songs and tales among the goliaths, Humans, and Plasmoids alike.
