Plasmoid

The Plasmoids are a small, gelatinous humanoid species born from a catastrophic magical mishap. They were once Gnomes, a clever and curious people, who witnessed many of their kin succumb to a corrupting force that twisted them into Goblins. In a desperate bid to escape the same fate, the gnomes performed a powerful ritual meant to render them immune to the corruption. Instead, the spell backfired, transforming every gnome in the world into a Plasmoid. This event, now infamously remembered as the Organism Ooze Polymorphism Situation (OOPS), reshaped the gnomish race forever.

Gnorenori:

The Plasmoids hail from Gnorenori, a land of seas and sites that follow the winding course of a great river nestled between two mountain ranges. Their society is ruled by GRUMBLE—the The Gnomorphy Reclamation and Unhappy Members of the Bureau for Ludicrous Experiments. GRUMBLE oversees each Plasmoid’s task, conducting both mundane and intricate experiments to uncover a way to reverse their ooze-like state. Often, these experiments blend seamlessly into everyday life, like a Plasmoid studying plant growth in what appears to be simple gardening.

Innovation and Collaborative Endeavors:

Despite their current form, Plasmoids remain brilliant inventors and have continued to shape the magical landscape of the world. Their wisdom and creativity are most evident in the development of enchanted items, such as those with pocket storage, which are actually connected to vast underground vaults in Gnorenori.

Corruption:

However, just as gnomes who once grew arrogant and reckless became goblins, Plasmoids who fall into arrogance and foolishness face a far worse fate. These corrupted Plasmoids lose what little form and intelligence they retain, devolving into mindless Oozes driven only by hunger, capable of dissolving anything they touch.
