Qualifications
In order to become a RIBO the candidate must have:
- Be of at least LAAKROMYI or higher.
- Completed an apprenticeship as a RIBOAYGMOE.
- Be healthy and physically fit.
- Have a voice loud enough to be heard over a battlefield.
- Leadership skills to manage and motivate soldiers.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Thinking and reasoning skills for making quick decisions.
- Persistence and determination.
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- The ability to use your initiative.
Career Progression
A RIBOGMOE finishing their apprenticeship becomes a RIBO, with seniority they can become a RIBOOD. This is the highest military position within the Empire.
Payment & Reimbursement
RIBO are paid a generous monthly stipend for their work, along with expenses for when their work requires travel.
Other Benefits
A RIBO gains all the respect that comes with legally wearing a toga with a purple trim. They are allowed a seat in the WYKSE and can vote on issues affecting the city. As they have a purple trim their vote carries five times the weight of a yellow trim.
Perception
Purpose
The purpose of a RIBO is to command the legions of a city or province.
Social Status
As the highest rung on the military chain only those of nobility are even considered for the role.
Operations
Workplace
In times of peace a RIBO works in an office within the STINKA HENS WYRS. During war they have their own tent.
Provided Services
The day to day duties of a RIBO can include:
- In a naval context a RIBO has overall responsibility for the efficient running of the ships and the safety of the crew, passengers and cargo.
- Managing other officers and handling financial, legal and commercial matters.
- Using intelligence reports to ascertain the best use of military resources.
- Determining the best terrain for a battleground.
