Hand-Crafted Reality

One of the most common ways to use SoulBurning is by channeling SoulEnergy from a BurningPool using one's hands as a focus to make a nearby effect or manipulation with Ei'tarnium. It was first discovered by Agni Amelani in the aftermath of the Burning of Souls, and it very quickly became one of the most used and widespread techniques to use the newfound Abilities and Affinities.
In an effort to control his body that was warping Aspects of the Elements around him, he began focusing this new energy attaching itself to his soul into his hands, slowly learning how to move and control it with a combination of his mind and hands guiding and shaping it. The other Heroes of Legend took to it quickly in their own ways and together they worked out a rudimentary, but more instinctual way to move their fingers and arms in symbolic ways that ultimately became the basis for what HandSigns are known for in the modern day.

The Heart of SoulBurning

Easily the most accessible of all the schools of SoulBurning, because almost everyone has hands or some sort of appendage to use for the movements. It's also more instinctual and intuitive than some of the others, which makes it easier to learn outside of academic surroundings. Upon the Heroes' return and the introduction of Ei'tarnium into Lislow, each nation, and newly evolving ethnicity worked out their own specialized movements of HandSigns that fit their culture and SoulBurning style. Even as new and different techniques came and went, it remained a staple of the Lislander's abilities. Greatly because arguably HandSigns are the easiest way of Burning, as (depending on the Spell or Curse) a SoulBurner simply has to focus their SoulEnergy on the corresponding hand movements to form and power their desired outcome before releasing it in their preferred way.

The Safe Way To Burn... Usually

Learning advanced HandSigns might be complex and require practice, it requires considerably less practical theoretical knowledge than WardWeaving, and with modern improvements on the original more speculative practices, it's also less innately instinctual than Aura Materialization, but because of this it's easy for HandSigns to not work, as wrong hand or finger movement, imprecise Energy Manipulation, or simply a bad Spell will cause a failure, the kickback from a failed HandSign is usually not severe and just the energy fizzling out.
This is not always the case, as several advanced techniques will require the mixing and manipulation of different already volatile abilities This can be spectacular, but on-the-fly techniques without the appropriate theoretical knowledge, untested application of multiple Aspects, and lack of guidance to Ei'tarnium and SoulEnergy can often result in explosive and deadly consequences regardless.

Discovery

First discovered by the Heroes of Legend, specifically a young Munraite (later Tetraite ) noble known as Agni Amelani while the group was sacking the Talthorian cities in the aftermath of the Burning of Souls. Many of the first movements made by him and the Heroes of Legend are still incorporated into the different schools of use or were built upon further for more efficient service.
