Lislander
The main and native population of Lislow. Once a small and relatively unmatured or advanced race on a distant planet, now a powerhouse within the known Regions and notoriously known across Aegialeus.
At first, they were surprisingly powerless, but even then not very docile, which is what drew the Talthorian attention to them. That had a domino effect resulting in the Lislow Enigma and the Lislanders gaining an in-depth connection to magic, known locally as SoulBurn).
Each flavor of Lislander comes with its own especially evolved set of senses and/or preceptive capability tailored for their home region. Even now thousands of years later from the original inciting incident, they are still evolving on a noticeably and almost daily scale.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humanoid to most degrees. Two arms, legs, eyes, and everything else with only slight discrepancies between ethnicities in height and average size which can range from small to very large.
Some of the subspecies, (especially the Mutaes) have evolved animalistic characteristics like fangs, wings, fur, or feline-like eyes.
Growth Rate & Stages
With the [Ei'tarnium](article:9996bce3-d99d-4d2e-b9fd-25540f5e6975) infection the species went from having an average lifespan of around 120 years to maturity being reached around the age of 20, to now depending on ethnicity anywhere between 500-2000 natural years.
While their maturity age remained the same, Lislanders will also start to form abilities as young as a few years and never stop as long as they live.
Ecology and Habitats
Quite adaptable, different ethnicities have adapted to a range of biomes and climates, varying from high mountaintops, grassy planes, badlands, deep forests, and more. Even the type of habitation differed as some made deep underground societies, etched from the stone under the planet's crust and others shaped trees into housing and infrastructure.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Lislowan:
With above-average strength and resilience, the common Lislowan are naturally built for strenuous labors and naturally harmful environments. Their base levels of stamina and fatigue tolerance are considerably better than most allowing them to run faster and longer than most animals even.
Their SoulBurning is usually highly attuned to elements like Air and Light, but due to great interbreeding with the other Ethnicities, the amount of natural affinities is comparable to any other element.
Tetraite:
Due to the near dark of being beneath massive trees, and naturally evolving into more nocturnal predators, their natural senses in the wilderness are as keen as most animals to the degree that they can feel subtle shifts in the wind and smell other creatures and people from miles away. While they can't see in complete darkness, the smallest amount of light will be enough for them to be able to see almost perfectly in even the darkest places.
Tetraite SoulBurning tends to naturally lean more towards Enhancement and Imbuement with natural affinities on Earth and Darkness, but the last few generations have seen a bigger uptick in attunement to specific Elements like Wood and Lightning.
Waelsaung:
Because of their ingrained long for song and dance, their sense naturally attuned themselves to the very vibrations of sound, and their bodies became much more dextrous and limber than the others. An average Waelsaung can nearly perceive audio waves and can hear and feel vibrations at great distances.
Waelsaung affinity has always laid with Water and Earth, but the Ethnicity never spurned the learning or advancement of others and through that rew greatly more attuned to multiple Elements and mixing aspects basics into finer ones.
Fullhumine:
Evolving deep in the stone and dirt of the mountains and canyons, Fullhumines are nearly one with their surroundings and can feel lingering Burning, vibrations, and small things like cracks and fading heat in the stone around them. They can also see in near pitch-blackness without any light, but not as clear as some of the others. Metal and Glass also respond to them abnormally well.
The Fullhumine affinity is and always has been greatest with Earth, with very little influence of any other Element or Aspect. Due to this they have refined and evolved to have nearly the control over its Aspects as much as anyone would their base natural affinity.
Munraite:
Naturally nocturnal, the Munraite naturally feel a sense of calm and focus in the dark, especially under moonlight. All their base senses are incredibly sharpened and heightened to sometimes an uncomfortable degree, but they'll feel a constant sense of energizing energy, and their BurnPools refill much quicker, regardless of Elemental Affinity.
Due to their slight sensitivity to most things in the daylight, and their need for calm, Darkness and Water have always been the easiest for them to be around and thus natural Affinities were formed. While it's not common to see another Element, Munraite's are also known for not fostering them properly through the generations and thus are rather lackluster.
Soularius
Evolving amongst the sand and heat, the Soularius were nearly extinct for generations until they began to adapt to the desert by retaining water, feeling the environmental shifts, and sensing other life and water sources. The younger generations, now past all of that have no issue being in the sun's rays, and some even find it empowering Affinities to water have increased exponentially since several settlements around water sources and oases sprung up.
While it took quite a lot of time for anyone outside of them to discover this, the people of sand are actually highly attuned to Light and Water, due to their evolution of hiding from one and needing the latter, especially as the generations have passed. While there's still a high affinity for Earth, or more specifically its Aspect Sand, Soularius are just as naturally attuned to the others.
Deeks:
Being the last Ethnicity discovered, even if one of the most populous, it was entirely due to how deep underground and hidden away they were. While not being able to see in the dark, it didn't matter as their hearing and sense of touch made up for it and more to the point they have such refined hearing they can pinpoint and categorize sounds they hear no matter how loud or chaotic. Their fingers and sense of touch are naturally nimble to build their contraptions blindly and feel anything around them with their thick and protective rough skin.
Being somewhat anomalous, it's rather unknown as to why the Deek's Natural Affinity is not just Earth, and it is curious that they seem not to be naturally inclined to any base element, but rather a very natural attuned to any secondary Aspect or refined Element.
Exhaul'd:
While technically they were originally a lower caste of Munraite, like the Tetraite, once leaving the Shamrock Plains the Exhaul'd evolved rapidly and willingly. With rather tepid and warm, but baren climates their senses of sight evolved to see great distances unblinkingly for great periods of time without the need for sleep, food, or most normal behaviors. It also seemed like their raider tendencies and rage faded in time, but instead reemerged in a magical trance that increased their SoulBurning, very akin to the Talthorians who helped them build their society.
As their society grew on the expanses of Badlands and Buttes, so did their affinity to the Winds around them the natural Darkness they sat and attacked in. Due to their exile and solitude, they never evolved affinities for many others, but grew very practiced with what they had and revered those born with others.
Mutaes
Strictly speaking the Mutaes are Lislowan, but due to extra exposure from Ei'tarnium, they evolved even more and specifically into creatures resembling both legend and the mutated animals around them. Considered a sub-species in itself, it contains smaller sects with specifically different capabilities ranging from heightened senses of touch and hearing in darkness to physical changes like claws and fangs.
In being evolved so, it also messed up their natural flow of affinities to strange degrees where different clans of sub-species will have wildly different Natural Affinities or Aspects.
