Munraite
Children of Moons, Stars and the Dark Sky
Questionably once Waelsaung, but undeniably the oldest and once most powerful empire on Lislow that ruled the north and east with an iron and often unseen deadly fist. With a strict system of castse and nobles, they colonized and imposed themselves on most the continent before the First Talthorian War where they were for the first time forced on the defensive which they took very personally. Later being the forefront of The Sacking Of The North and the schemers behind the Burning of Souls. While B.B.S. (Before the Burning of Souls) they were originally the largest subspecies of Lislander, they were quickly out-evolved and outnumbered post The Sacking Of The North as struggled from the blowback from recovered Talthorians who mercilessly pouring out of the north and attacking everything in sight. The other factions, too busy with developing new abilities refused to come to their aide.
To make amtters worse they were unable to effectively deal with their defenses as they clung to their ways and many of the lower castes began fleeing west and south to become what's known today as the Tetraite Exhaul'd
. The empire fractured under it's Lord Emperor who had overspent and overeached, ignoring too many growing problems back in the capital. While the nobles tried in vain to cling to their power and holdings, they lost most of their territory back to the locals and were forced to retreat to defend themselves from the combined attacks of the Waelsaung backed Tetraites vying for freedom and the Talthorians out for revenge.
Tides changed for them as a new king stepped up and made large swathes of changes and restructuring in the empire, turning it into a stable, but much smaller empire with a considerably fairer heirarchy. It took amny years of to change, and they ultimately never tried to retake any more land, but the resentment over the abandonment to the Talthorians never fully left.
Now they are secluded and proud ethnic group, clinging to their old ways and forever grasping for their lost glory, but too small to be a threat to the much bigger factions.
