Exhaul'd

A proud and carefree people, that reside in the badlands of Exhaul across the eastern rivers. Originally the descendants of Munraite that fled into the Shamrock Plains after the Burning of Souls that became raiders and major antagonists to the Lislowans, they were pushed back into the east by the Paladins of Nochar and newly evolving creatures and monsters. Losing their few numbers due to lack of experience and knowledge, they were forced to hide during the day and only venture in the cover of darkness, until they were found and led into the badlands by an unnamed Talthorian known simply as 'The Exalted'.

Though rumors are it was Abaddon.

They accepted their 'Exile' and grew into a group of tribes roaming the lands, governed by a group of their tribe leaders that followed the leadership of The Exalted.
In time they would repopulate their people and grow their society large enough to be occasionally venturing out to attack the Free Lislowan Peoples and become enough of a danger to be a viable threat to Lislowans and Munraites. Forcing another Coalition between Lislowans to hold them back. Several wars that went both ways later, they mellowed out and found a more effective way to get money from westerners, that be getting paid by one side to attack another, and while their numbers never let them match the larger factions, they remained a significant threat to whoever was on the opposite side.

In recent years the Exhaul'd have mostly left their raider ways behind and now lease and rent out their services to high-paying lords and nobles across the lands to act as guards, mercenaries, assassins, and combat butlers.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The Exhaul'd dialect is a derivative from the Munraite one, and has changed over time to sound more short and curt. Whether naturally or due to their environment several words and adjectives were dropped in favor of hand motions and wordless grunts.

Shared customary codes and values

A possible overcorrection for their ancestral behavior, the Exhaul'd pride themselves on grace, patience, and good manners. Polite greetings, farewells, complicated handshakes, and respectful hierarchy dominate their culture. The younger generations are sent through tough schooling to instill a proper standard in them all.
