It was horrible. It was a trap. They were waiting for us. She, the pirate king, she had the ability to turn the very storm against us. Only the ship I served on survived.

The Search for Stormfleet
In the spring of 63, a coalition of military
skyships from the nations of
Burim and
Grara as well as several from the city of
Darapur set out to find and eliminate the
Stormfleet pirates. Their search lasted until autumn when they finally saw a distress signal from a merchant ship.
This was part of the
Stormqueen's plan. The merchant ship was one they had captured not long before and had yet to be reported missing. When the coalition
ships arrived, the pirates dove down into the
Floor. Unwisely, the military pursued them.
Storm and Song
The
Stormfleet pirates had much more experience flying and operating within the violent unending storm and had a huge advantage in the battle. Their ships had been modified so that the bottom could open and the pirates could fire or drop things on their enemies below, a tactic only possible in storms, in the
Floor , and below that in the
Void because ships won't fail and plummet just for flying over each other. In this battle, the pirate vessels were loaded with random goods and rotting food that they push out of their ship and onto their foes.
It is noted in one report that when the
pirate leader sang, the storm would turn against her foes. Lightning would strike every crew member on the deck of a ship and the wind would push them out of position.
