This paper is a milestone not only in this land of rivers but on Breharan as it guarantees equal rights to all people of this city. We must always remember that things change and that people change and that the attitudes of people will not match some ink on a piece of paper. It is up to all of us to make sure the future is bright for everyone, regardless of who they may be.— Taitolo at the signing of the Darapur Act
The Hero of Words
Not much is known about Purtote before their involvement in the founding of
Darapur - specifically in the writing of the
Darapur Act - except that they were born a
Drifter. Which is likely the source of their belief in equality for all, a sentiment not shared by all of their contemporaries - such as
Ameteii Burim who was part of the founding members of
Darapur until shamed from the group by Purtote.
They are remembered by the people of
Zinato as the hero of words because they wrote most of the equality text of the
Darapur Act and sent a famous letter that sent a proponent of economic inequality fleeing the region.
Appearance
Tall for an
aven and also with lightly coloured feathers, Purtote always stood out from a crowd. They prefered to wear a long cloak over simple clothes and wore a headwrap.

The River Child
Everyone born in
Zinato is a river child but few have the name Purtote, literally meaning river (pur) child (tote).
The name Purtote remains a popular name for children in
Zinato due to the good reputation that Purtote Taitolo has long after their passing.
Very nice article! I love the meaning behind the name and that now many children are named essentially in his honor. :) Also, love, love, love to see avian people!!!
Thanks! Always need more avens in my life.
