The Unafidic Church
The Unafidic Church, sometimes referred to as the United Unafidic Church of Niccarro, is the official church of the Republic of Niccarro.
Founded some time in the year 350 from a collective of religious groups, the Unafidic Church that teaches the unified faith of Tiefling Deific Hero Worship and the Giant Pantheon, teaching that both aspects can work in unity while also being seperate.
The Unafidic Church has influenced a great many aspects of Niccarran philosophy, culture and art, even the odd foray into science, and the central hub of the Unafidic Church, the Divine Basilica contains some of the greatest works of art in the entire of Niccarro.
Despite being part of Niccarro, the Unafidic Church has maintained direct control of Lacano, owing to an ancient treaty with the first Caten, though they still send elected Bishops in place of the expected Senators. Cardinal's and Bishops can come from all across the country, though outside of Lacano, they technically hold no real power outside of religious advice.
The Leader of the Unafidic Church, known as the Dakexigrammaton Gotha, while named and praised by the followers of the church, is never physically seen by anyone outside of the priesthood. To the vast followers of the church, the leader is a faceless figure draped in shadow. This is because the leader is, in their own words, No-one. Only the Gods are what should be considered important. So the leader is given specific voice training to enable their voice to reach a specific level. If they are masculine, they are trained to lighten their voice to that level, if they are feminine, the are trained to deepen it. If they are Tiefling, they are trained to add a level of rumble, and Goliath are trained to lighten their rumble.
This is so that each Dakexigrammaton Gotha sounds similar, regardless of race and gender. This is, in theory, so each leader could be as indistinguishble from each other and shift focus purely to their pantheon.
The naming convention of each Dakexigrammaton Gotha enables worshippers to have a slight clue behind the race of the Gotha. If they are a tiefling, they take the name of a great hero from Goliath history and scripture. If they are a Goliath, they take the name of a Tiefling hero from history and scripture. The allows a true blending of the two faiths and races.
Those who are blessed enough to gain an audience with the Dakexigrammaton Gotha, they are brought to a vast chamber, wherin lies the Ruby Throne, a towering edifice of dark stone and pillars of rubies, and upon it, wreathed in shadow, lies the Dakexigrammaton Gotha, hidden by the lightlessness, with only their long billowing robes visible, and their unique crown of horns and antlers, a construct uniquely made for each Dakexigrammaton Gotha.
While the Holy Scripture of the Unafidic Church, Il Libro Della Verita, is avaialable for all to read, it's generally considered to be impossible to decipher for anyone outside of the priesthood. The flowing script of the LDV is written in a hybrid tongue between the Infernal Script and the Giant tongue, and it's considered an amazing feat for the Priests to be able to understand and teach from.
