Stationer
While in some if the more isolated locations of Levis, the art of growing your own tools is a thing; in the towns and cities of the realm stationers instead take the load off of the mage, the inker and the circuit tattooer, giving them the tools to complete their crafts.
The stationer is a grower and a shaper, using time and care to coax their gardens into the parts for the tools others will need to perform their crafts. Often using glues and waxes to join parts together, products that do not last under normal circumstances are often rejected by the community at large.

Career
Qualifications
While in smaller towns stationers require no qualificatons, in larger towns where standards are upheld, registration and apprenticeship with the Guild of Sigils and Designs for a duration of 3 years is required, the training encompassing both the stationer trade and some basic sigil and design lessons so that thd stationer is aware of how their products are supposed to behave.
More refined stationers return to the guild to either tutor new recruits, or to learn advanced techniques in meetings that are communicated throughout the network as they are designed.

Other Benefits
While the basic town stationer gains an occupation that can be used to trade for, registered stationers are often brought in on specialty projects by mages and artists, their names and famous projects often tied together and bringing them clients from far and wide for their specific style of product.
Mages who work with a particular stationer are likely to reciprocate through acts of assistance and generousity, often seeking out quality stationers for logterm use.

Perception
Social Status
A stationer is a well seen supplier job. While not as prestigious as someone in academia, nor as respected as someone in the combat arts (Hunters, trackers etc), the stationer is seen as a respectable auxillery to the mechanism of the knowledgeable.
A good stationer is seen in the same regard as a good tailor, someone to know but not neccesarily someone to invite to ones gatherings.

Demographics
A medium sized town like Vertus might have 2 to 3 stationers at a time, while Natare might have 20 and Weltstaat Castle might have 15, with 2 to 3 being for any mages within the Royal Court.
History
The stationer was first created back during the early Quiet Years, when an unnamed Troll from Whencis noticed the wasted garden space and time being used by the local mages to grow their brushes and the variable quality being grown through the community.
When the idea caught on, and the practitioners were flooded with customers, the guild of sigils reached out, incentivising the joining of ideas by gifting larger gardens to those early stationers.
By granting legitimacy in those early stages, all following stationers seeking to enter the public amphitheatre have sought guild membership and the profession has unofficially fallen under the guild's rigorous standards.

This is such a cool job. I love the part about their perception, that it is good to know them but you wouldn’t invite them to your dinner party :D I would be interested to know, how prices of them are for various things. They can’t live just of favors I guess.
The entire Levis society is a barter economy. The favours are jusr a mage specific boon on top.
