Minans
The Minotaurs of Minos Prime, are a nomadic species of large, physically imposing bipedal humanoids which appear as the Minotaurs of Home legend.
It's notable that though the Minans are apparently intelligent and a hearty physical race, they do not appear to be aggressive. In fact, they seem to enjoy thinking (some cultural observers think that there are actually mentally oriented sports that exist, perhaps on an inter-tribal scale.
Government and Organization
Minotaurs organize at the clan or tribal, but each of these structures appear essentially autonomous, though there appears to be a high degree of cooperation among them.Minan Tribes
Minan Tribes are extended families of Minans who live together. There are anywhere from 50 to 250 individuals which make up a Tribe. Each tribe is led by 1 or more Elders. This is the lowest level of "extended government" that the Minans have amongst each other. A number of Tribes make up a Clan.Minan Clan
The larger Minan social structure, the Clan is composed of (the smallest known) 7 tribes and it's believed that several of the larger Clans are at least 50 Tribes in strength. No one is sure how many Clans exist. Clans are led by 3 or more elders.Minan Elders
Minan elders, do not appear to have any authority above any other. The level of cooperation between them is high, but they respect each others jurisdictions - though how those jurisdictions are accorded is unknown. Decisions by the elders can seemingly be challenged, though the method is currently unclear. Elders can be male or female, but the method of selection also appears to be unclear (though most elders are typically "older" there are some exceptions).Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
The Sites of Minos Prime are an important aspect of the Minan cultural heritage, and of incredible importance to the Federati. Most Minans see protection of them as a sacred responsibility; each Clan or Tribe has responsibility for one or more sites.
Average technological level
The Minans are T-1. Though efficient and highly intelligent, they have little desire for the pursuit of higher technology.
Art & Architecture
Minan architecture is functionally aesthetic, with an incredible love for stone work. Their understanding of color and the stones they have to work with are remarkable, but they are unwilling to part with their stone work (it being functional, it typically is doing something, currently).
Common Taboos
Archaeological Sites: For many Minans, even disturbing a site, which they call Omakodee, is taboo. For most however, it is enough to have a Minan elder present in order to enter the site.
Major organizations
The Horns of Taurus represents the best known organization out of the clans and tribes of the Minans, and they seem to have emerged in response to presence of the Federati.
The Xanadans have quickly risen as the more important voices of persuasion on Minos.
The Taurans and Xandans are essentially locking horns to determine who will be the voice of the Minans.
