Gedian Empire
Gedia is a powerful nation dating back to the Age of Djinn. Emperor Dalitso traces his lineage back to the Arch-Djinn.
Geography
Southern Gedia is a massive deciduous forest. Northern Gedia borders the Vassily Mountains and the Ilisuaqian Empire. It is covered in grasslands and savanna, with some hills here and there. Both the north and the south have large rivers that drain both north into the Perel River and south into the Western Sonam Ocean.Structure
The Gedian Empire uses a system of vassal states and provincial governors that dates back to the time of the Djinn. The system is similar to the Imperial Bureaucracy, with two major differences: governors have much more autonomy than administrators and their selection is not based on merit.
Demography and Population
The Gedian Empire uses a two-tier approach to governance. Full citizens have certain rights (eg, reduced taxation) that partial citizens do not. All Salamander and some Human are full citizens, while almost all others are partial citizens. A third-generation partial citizen may convert to full citizenship if they "show proper respect, fealty, and dedication to the Emperor and the Gods," although the generation requirement is rarely waived in cases "of extraordinary service."
Humans, Dwarfs, and Goblins make up almost all the partial citizens. Naga and Orcs, and Clockwork are oddities at best. Changelings are considered an abomination, and are killed on sight.
Culture
Gedians are often thought of as hedonistic pleasure seekers. Gedians argue that life is to be lived, and that they simply see the beauty in all things. Gedians prefer bright oranges and reds, the colors of the ancient Djinn.
