Josephine Evans (a.k.a. Vulture)

I eased downward on my webs and plucked the glimmering thing off of the road. I held it up to my face and inspected it.

It was a feather, but not a normal one. It was heavy, and its fibers seemed to be woven of pure steel.

Not much is known about Vulture's past or origins, and she isn't willing to volunteer any of that information any time soon. She was born somewhere in Quebec and immigrated to the United States when she was a young girl, but what happened to her between then and now is unknown.

Vulture's first encounter with Spidergirl was when the hero attempted to stop her from attacking a prison bus. The battle quickly became bloody, with Vulture's razor-edged wings proving formidable weapons as well as granting her superior agility. Spidergirl was unprepared and beaten badly. Both Vulture and the prisoners escaped.

Since then, Vulture has appeared in numerous other prison breaks and robberies, all of which link to operations of the Fisk Crime Family.

It is assumed that she is working with Queenpin, though her motives are unclear. One thing is for certain, though: she isn't afraid to kill to get what she wants.

Description

Josephine is quite fit and muscular, especially in the arms and shoulders. Her wingspan is about twice her height. Instead of normal scars, her skin has scrapes and dents in it as if it were metal. Her face is quite narrow and cruel, and she never smiles.

She usually wears halter tops or modified clothing to allow for her wings. She prefers grays, faded blues, or other dark colors that allow her to blend into the night sky better. She doesn't seem bothered by the cold or rain and rarely wears many layers. Thanks to her steel skin, she has no need for armor and can shrug off most attacks--including bullets--without flinching.

She wears a tool belt that carries a variety of simple gadgets, such as nets, grappling hooks, and throwing knives that she uses to disable her opponents. She also often wears cargo pants with many pockets that she hides more devices in. In close quarters, she prefers to fight with her fists and her wings. She has never been observed using a gun before.
