Harkinwall

The largest city on the western coast of the Ptyrponean Sea, Harkinwall is well known for its bathhouses, brothels, and organized crime. Although the city is officially ruled over by the local lord, Lance Mori, the true minds behind the city's business are the multitude of criminal organizations that are based within Harkinwall's limits.

The city is surrounded by rings of rammed-earth walls, and while they are officially stationed by city watch guards, they are typically unmanned due to a lack of willing individuals to join the city defense. Harkinwall Sheriff Thea Stonebridge cares deeply for the city in which she was born and thus advocates daily for citizens to rally themselves to duty, however, the propaganda from the city's criminal underworld puts doubt on the cities defenses and the townsfolk would rather rely on the private mercenaries employed by the crime lords.

Industry & Trade

Due to its size, Harkinwall is naturally a trade hub for many goods passing into Miras from Nissea. But with the increasing number of sailors and travelers staying briefly in the city a need for bathhouses arose to accommodate the demand. From the uninitiated, many bath houses appear to be just that but when the vast majority of bath houses are run by gangs additional services are made available.
In the past few centuries, the guise of simple bathhouses began to wear thin and brothels began to advertise themselves openly and brazenly. Many of these new brothels, such as Club S'fera, are simply money-making ventures for more deranged organizations. Some clubs have expanded their business into neighboring cities, as is the case for the Topaz Fang chain of "inns".
