Martro Union

The Martro Union is an organization that seeks to achieve legislative and financial protection for any establishments that have joined the union. At present, the Union has ensured that the farms involved receive protection from the local guard, a mandated maximum price on ale from Eldurgrund based breweries, and various benefits depending on a shops needs. Eventually, the group ended up merging with the Euvurcrest Orc-Urr Aegis to provide employment for orcs in the city (this merge resulted in 2 shops leaving the union, paying off their debts to Hasdur Martro instead).

Structure

The Martro Union's headquarters is established in the garden district of Euvurcrest, where meetings are held between the owners of the subsidiary establishments within the union. Most decisions that the organization makes are put up to a vote, though Hasdur Martro will occasionally make executive decisions for the group (such as the merger with the Orc-Urr Aegis.

History

The Martro Union was arose from the lackluster "Guild Union of Euvurcrest," which never got any establishments to join. It was only with Hasdur Martro's financial, social, and political influence that the organization was commandeered and refocused under the name "Martro's Union." Under his name, several shop owners agreed to join, whether it was because of his good business sense or their immense debt they had accrued to him (which he offered to wave, should they join the union). The union's crest was eventually established and when the headquarters was built in the garden district, they began regulating the usage of the crest by organizations that were in the union. The Hellstrom Governy dictated that all members of the organization were required to make this clear, by displaying their sigil in any unionized shops and inns.
Eventually, the Orc-Urr Aegis moved into Euvurcrest as well, and sought the help of the established union in order to grow their own name. In its modern incarnation, the Martro Union is a result of a merger between Martro's organization and the Euvucrest Orc-Urr Aegis.
