Grandmother

The elders and de facto rulers of Hallü tribes are the older ladies who have proven their wisdom. They must have had children of their own, who must have had children. Any woman who desires to become a grandmother is likely, but not always, refused the honour. The honourific title is typically given to those who show worth, demonstrating leadership already, but who do not seek out the power of a high level position, and will, instead, just step forward and do what is good for their clan, and (often) the Hallü at large.

Appointment

Existing grandmothers will look at the potential of elder women in the differing tribes and choose from them, as a group at The Great Gathering.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Death or extreme incompetence.
