Bear

In all species of bear the males grow larger than the females, with the females being (on average) 60% to 75% the size of the males. All are omnivores, and eat mostly plant matter, except for the polar bear, which is the other way around, being mostly carnivorous, because of the availability of foods where it lives. All are capable hunters. And all are formidable when threatened. Both types of black bears are not known to hunt humanoids, but all other types of bears are. Bears typically take eight years to mature, although they are known to breed by five years of age.   Bears fight using their teeth and claws, as well as clubbing with their fore-paws and grabbing for a hug, which will squeeze their opponent, crushing for damage equal to the strength difference between the one being hugged and the hugger, or one damage point, whichever is greater. Bears will not hug unless they are facing only one opponent.   Movement: 2 / 0.25 / 2 / 5 / 15   Black Bear While most commonly black in colour, these bears may also be brown and (very rarely) white. They are omnivorous but subsist primarily on vegetable matter. Full maturity is reached at 8 years of age, and they can reach up to 280 kg (600 lbs) on average. On the rare occasion one may reach up to 800 pounds. Adult Size: 40 to 52   Brown Bear These include several types of brown bears, including grizzlies, Kodiak, Nanulak (also known as Grolar bears or pizzlies), and cave bears. They range in colour from blonde, light to dark brown, to almost black. They may grow up to 700 kg (1500 lbs), rarely larger, only the Nanulak may be larger, as large as a Polar Bear (1760 lbs). Larger species of brown bears are the great cave bears, which can reach up to 850 kg (1870 lbs), and are only found in the Great Rages. These great cave bears are the largest bears known to exist and are extremely smart (as animals go). Adult Size: 52 to 114; cave bears adult size: 85 to 121.   Polar Bear These large, white bears are only found in the northern most parts of the world, from the Weiß Mountains and north. Females average around 300 kg (660 lbs) but may reach up to 400 kg (880 lbs), and the males average around 500 kg (1100 lbs) but may reach up to 800 kg (1760 lbs). Adult Size: 40 to 114   Southern Black Bear (moon bear) Similar to its more northern counterpart, this bear is predominantly black in colour, except that it has a small crescent on its chest and the hair around its neck and base of its head grows in a sort of fluffy fringe. Adult Size: 40 to 52   Ækstan Bear (speckled bear) Overall its fur is blackish in color, though bears may vary from jet black to dark brown and to even a reddish hue. The species typically has distinctive beige-coloured marking across its face and upper chest, though not all Ækstan bears have “speckled” markings. The pattern and extent of pale markings are slightly different on each individual bear and bears can be readily distinguished by this. Males are a third larger than females in dimensions and sometimes twice their weight. Males can weigh 100 – 200 kilograms (220 – 440 lb), and females 35 –82 kilograms (77 – 181 lb). Length can range from 120 to 200 cm (47–79 in), with a tail length of a mere 7 cm (2.8 in), and shoulder height from 60 to 90 cm (24–30 in). Compared to other living bears, this species has a more rounded face with a relatively short and broad snout. Adult Size: 5 to 28
