Vallusios

The Starlight Goddess/ The Light Mother

"Feel the light of the stars shine upon you, let it clean out the dusky shadows lurking within your being. Turn a heart made of charcoal, into a great shining diamond. Shine your light upon others as well, this is the teaching of Vallusios, do not allow the forces of necromancy to tear apart the great order of life and creation, instead let the divine light of the light mother radiate into your home."
-Elusare Ixias, wartime cleric and priest of Valluios.
Vallusios is known as the light mother because that she is the closest god to the original god of Laeriss but in a much weaker form. When the original Vallusios split into the seventeen gods of Laeriss her core spirit became the Vallusios that exists now. She represents light in its purest form fighting against necrotic magic and evil, some of if not the most powerful clerics on Laeriss were followers of Vallusios as she gifts the powers of creation and healing to her disciples. She is the ultimate rival of Vixera. While Vallusios is the light queen of life and rebirth, Vixera is the dark queen of death and necromancy. Pregnant women often will pray to Vallusios or be blessed by a priest of Vallusios as to protect their baby, Vallusios is said to protect all pregnant women who seek her help regardless of their allegiance, though she can still be strict when necessary. Much like a stern mother wanting what is best for her children, Vallusios also must enforce law and order in the world even when it means not being so kind. Vallusios herself does not get along very well with many of the other gods as they often find her meddling in the mortal world to be too extreme, some gods she does not get along very well with are Padalor, Mourl, Certak, Ateesia, Aenoa, Enfranis, and Darrünn.

Divine Domains

Vallusios has the domains of healing, motherhood, honor, light, celestials, protection, aasimar's, valor, rebirth, and respect. She is sometimes called the light mother since she is representative of the power of creation. She had been the god of some of the highest clerics of Laeriss and is the overseer of Mount Celestia for her power of healing and the light. Though she is not pure good, she is also a god of honor, law, and valor. Vallusios is representative of creation and renewal because that she is the original god in a weaker form, at one seventeenth of her original power, the other sixteenths of course being within the other sixteen gods.

Holy Books & Codes

The Star Legend is the name of the holy tomb of Vallusios. It has the more of the original legends of the origin of the planar verse than any other holy book, even the books of Orwei and Padalor do not have as much information about the beginning of everything. It tells of great legends of heroes, warriors, and people who stood their ground in the face of that which fought the forces of justice. It tells that Vallusios is the mother of all races on Laeriss, that she sees all as her children. When somebody in the way of the light must be slain, she will send her warriors with sorrow in her heart as if they culprit was her own kin.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of Vallusios is a diamond shaped jewel in the palm of an open hand radiating pure white light. The open hand represents Vallusios reaching out to all, the gem represents the elegant purity of Vallusios, the white light represents the forces of justice and will. Because of this symbol, diamonds are seen as sacred by followers of Vallusios; the more clean the diamond is, the more holy it is seen as being.

Tenets of Faith

The laws of Vallusios are:
-Treat all people as if they were your own kin.
-Do not commit un-neccesitated thievery.
-Treat all mothers as if they were your queens.
-Feed those who hunger.
-Do not kill unnecessarily and only do so when it is just with mourning in your heart.
-Stand up against that which is wrong in the world
-Avoid all necromancy as it is a heinous sin against life.
-Create beauty and order out of even the most sinful environments.

Holidays

The holiday of Vallusios is known as Veshthiel, the night of many stars. Veshthiel takes place in the dead of winter, It is said that on Veshthiel all the stars in the sky become visible at once. If ever clouds were to overcome the sky and block the stars on Veshthiel it is said that a time of great danger would come upon the people of Laeriss. Veshthiel is the second most commonly celebrated holiday on Laeriss, only beaten by Solitias, the summer holiday of Padalor. Veshthiel symbolizes hope in persisting through the long winter, and making it to fall. It shows that even in the coldest of times, the stars still shine bright upon the people of Laeriss.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Vallusios wishes for the eradication of necrotic magic and rise of radiant magic. A priest of Vallusios is very unlikely to resurrect somebody unless Vallusios herself decides that it must be done in order to sustain the world at large. She also wishes for the forces of chaos and evil to be eradicated, leaving the world a place of true justice. Though unlike gods like Padalor Vallusios is not quite as concerned with increasing her amount of followers, only with completing her other goals.

Physical Description

Body Features

Vallusios takes the form of a very tall and beautiful one winged aasimar like being. Her skin is said to glow with the radiance of the stars and her arms are perfectly slender yet her legs are rarely seen due to her great gown said to meld into the universe itself. She is also said to appear permanently about five months pregnant.

Facial Features

The face of Vallusios is soft yet powerful looking, with silvery blue eyes filled with gold specks. Her long hair flows with strands of black and silver. On her head sits a great opalescent crown which flows with radiant magic and creation energy. When Vallusios or her disciples use her power it takes the form of pure blinding light pulled out of her beautiful crystal crown.

Identifying Characteristics

The most noticeable feature of Vallusios is most likely her great singular wing made out of pure blinding light. While the original Vallusios had two wings, now the modern Vallusios was left with one after the other gods were created. It is said that her other wing is the great black wing of Vixera.

The Church of Vallusios

The church of Vallusios is part of both The celestial order and The Noble Creed, they are the enemies of the church of Vixera. The church buildings themselves are usually extremely tall domed structures made out of stone, marble and glass. Some of the most beautiful statues, paintings, and stained glass artworks are found within churches of Vallusios as the churches devote themselves to purity and beauty.

The Followers of Vallusios

Those who follow Vallusios are taught that they must create beauty and purity wherever they go from a naturally chaotic and flawed world as doing so is accomplishing their divine mission. They value mothers and motherhood above all else, treating them with the upmost respect. Many humans, Elves, Aarakocra, Genasi, and other races worship Vallusios, but the race that most commonly worships Vallusios are the Aasimar since she is the divine patron of many Aasimar. Worshippers of Vallusios are often granted minor healing power or clerical abilities. A higher percentage of Vallusios's disciples become clerics than the amount of disciples becoming clerics for any other gods. Large amounts of paladins also come out of the Vallusian church since Vallusios believes in sending out many disciples to carry out her work and meddles a lot in the affairs of mortals.
