Certak

The god of nothing

"Grey eyes, black hair, blue skin, this is the image of our god, she represents the real truth of the world, the sadness, the death, the meaninglessness of it all. She has shown all of us that nothing truly matters yet we keep going, for one purpose, the only true purpose, to spread the truth of the world and make everybody feel the pain of living."
-Kelshar Windhowl, priest of Certak
Certak is the god of suffering, emptiness, and pessimism in its truest form, she represents the outer plane known as the gray waste and is considered the most evil of the gods, not caring about law or chaos but only about making the world a more hopeless place. Since she is the most evil of the gods her church leads The Infernal Denomination and she is partially responsible for the creation of demons within the gray waste. Certak teaches that life is meaningless and we should all just accept pain and suffering into our souls, to most of us this of course sounds crazy but the followers of Certak believe this with all that remains of their heart, partially due to the piercing words engraved onto Certak's key of truth.

Divine Domains

Certak's domains include pain, fear, sadness, dark truths, pessimism, depression, suffering, and demons. Followers of Certak go out of their way to make the lives of themselves and others more painful, often she sends her demons and followers to cause suffering simply for her own pleasure.

Holy Books & Codes

The key of truth is what Certak and her followers call her code. It is carved into a steel key of a pattern not fitting into any known lock. Wrapping around the entire key are engraved words telling stories and ideas of sadness, depression, meaninglessness, death, and a truth-less world of meaningless lies.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of Certak is a drawing of the key of truth wrapped all the way around by spiked chains. The symbol of Certak strikes fear as it is said wherever it is placed by one of her followers, they will make somebody suffer in that place while she watches.

Tenets of Faith

The rules of Certak placed onto the key of truth:
-Spread knowledge of horrific suffering and endless depression to all who still believe the lies told by society.
-Show those around you pain and death.
-Allow yourself to suffer in prayer to Certak.
-Let go of all that you care about, it is meaningless anyways.

Holidays

Followers of Certak are taught that all holidays are just simple distractions from the dark truths of life. They do not celebrate any holiday and instead chose to show their allegiance to the twisted truth every day through bringing emptiness wherever they go and constantly being a downer.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Certak wishes for all people on Laeriss to become completely apathetic and depressed, being able to do nothing else than cower in fear at the evil in the world. She wishes for everybody to know the words of the key of truth and become enveloped in sadness forever doing nothing more than feeding her hunger for suffering.

Physical Description

Body Features

Certak has long, slender, bony limbs which are unnaturally long. Her completely white chalky skin stretches over her bones as if she has no organs or muscles underneath. Her nails are all incredibly long and jagged and her hands look extremely frail like the hands of a one-hundred-twenty year old woman.

Facial Features

Her face is incredibly gaunt and the skin sags in low bags. Her jaw, cheekbones, and teeth are incredibly defined with almost every small detail on their surface visible through the taught skin on parts of her face. Her eyes are covered over with milky grey cataracts and her teeth are a dull grey color.

Identifying Characteristics

The most noticeable feature of Certak when she is depicted is her insanely long pure black hair, it is unknown if there is an end to the hair of Certak or if it continues without end but no drawing in any church of Certak depicts an ending point for the midnight colored hair.

Social

Speech

Certak has an incredibly hollow raspy voice which echoes out from her mouth. She sounds as if she is a woman on her death bed gasping her last breath with every word she says. She is completely blunt with every word making sure each one is imbued with her message of death.

The church of Certak

The church of Certak is one of the most feared of the five churches of The Infernal Denomination, as they lead the rest by the purely evil god that is Certak. Churches of Certak are usually tight spaces in cubular or utilitarian shaped stone buildings with almost no decoration or beauty to them. The only decoration within a church of Certak is depressing messages of suffering and images depicting war, death, horror, and Certak herself. Often these churches are made up of many claustrophobic rooms each equipped with different torture devices often used on ones self as a form of prayer to Certak and to the morbid truth she teaches. Churches of Certak are hidden in places where people usually won't find them, often underground or within the alleyways of a crowded city. The followers of Certak do not make themselves known, instead acting in secret or disguising themselves when they commit their atrocities.

Disciples of Certak

Followers of Certak make sure to always bring pain wherever they go, placing the symbol of Certak on a nearby surface before bringing the worst forms of torture onto their victims. From a young age these followers are constantly forced to read the words placed onto the key of truth, these followers will grow up to experience only depression and emptiness with no purpose but to please Certak. Those who witness the horrors of her church and make it out alive note how every one of her followers is like an undead monster with no soul, simply serving Certak by bringing suffering to themselves and those around them. Followers of Certak are also impossible to torture to get information out of and would gladly accept death over ever giving away information. Though they usually have no empathy for anybody including their family and don't truly have real emotions in general. With every monstrous act preformed by a follower of Certak they feel as if they are helping the world find truth and feel no guilt about their evil deed.
