Ivory Forest
The Ivory forest is a giant forest, strongly connected to the Feywild. The forest is bordered by many Wood Elf settlements. The outermost trees of the forest have white wisps running through their bark with light interior grey wood marbled by streaks of white. The trees that are deepest in the forest have piercing white bark and near glowingly bright ivory hued inner wood. The trees also get gradually taller as they reach into the depths of the Ivory Forest. Many Fey wander around the forest, either trying to find their way back into the Feywild or abandoning their old life in order to reside on the mortal plane. An unwilling adventurer may find themselves accidentally passing over the thin barrier into the Feywild without even noticing, discovering too late that they don't even know the way back. For this reason, most people would not dare to cross past the ivory trees into the deep woods, for fear that they may get lost in the Feywild forever. The original Zerion tribe of Elves were once lost in the Feywild, due to wandering into the forest thousands of years ago. It took hundreds of years for the Zerion Elves to return to Laeriss, only to find themselves thousands of miles away from where they started.
Geography
The Ivory Forest is an extremely dense deciduous forest which increases in density as it gets deeper. It is surrounded by the Cinnabar Forest on its outskirts. While the Cinnabar Forest is technically part of the same forest as the Ivory Forest, it is not inherently magical and does not have magical trees. Many rivers and streams run all through the forest, providing ample freshwater to the life dwelling within it. It is said that from the very depths of the woods, it is simultaneously eerie, serine, and beautiful, as dense blazing white towers stretch out in every direction, their light illuminating the rolling fog. Through the fog can be seen distortions of the world, strange images of the Feywild where the planar border is weakest.
Fauna & Flora
The Ivory Forest is mainly known for its mystical trees. It is said that the trees were created when a great Fey spirit was slain in the heart of the forest and in their dying act, burnt all the nearby woods with a magical white flame. The trees are inherently laced with Fey magic, getting more potent the closer to the original point of the sacrifice the trees are. The purer white the trees are, the more likely that the Fey magic they emit will cause an accidental transition into the Feywild. Animals and plants within the forest are touched by the Fey magic and become larger, more magical, and more Fey-like. The plants and animals within the depths of the forest have streaks of white running through their bodies and fur. Fey monsters and beasts are very common within the woods, often attacking travelers before they can even get very far into the expanse.
