The Sword Sea

In the western half of the Middle Continent, Sword Sea splits the land nearly in half, driving down far to the south. The mountain range in the east sandwiches narrow land between peaks and shore, while to the west lie vast grasslands punctuated in places with lonely mountains or forests in the south.
Few islands adorn the interior of the Sword Sea, but because of its position, few storms ever arise. Around the northern rim of the Sword Sea, rainfall is somewhat low, as mountains block the winds from the east that carry so much moisture and the Sword Sea itself doesn't provide storms often. The area sits squarely on the equator and is therefore rather hot, though the currents of the sea sluggishly move that heat away and bring in cooler waters, providing some relief for those who live near the coast.
