The Cleansing Light

The Cleansing Light is small group that splintered off from Holy Order of the Bringers and Protectors of the Light Resplendent some time ago. The exact details about their founding are not well known, but it is known that the founders of this group were once Light Bringers who were kicked out of that organization for their radical views and failure to follow doctrine. It is unknown how many current members of the Light Bringers are also part of this splinter group, although the Cleansing Light claims many of them are, and more join every day.
The Cleansing Light beleives that the use of magic only invites the Dark Ones to enter your heart and steal your soul. They beleive magic is a curse and trick of Xi the Dark and that magic users, especially Mages, Sorcerors and Witches are the cause of all woes, from letting the Great Fallen Incursion Incursion happen, to the existance of Dragons and other monsters. They view the very existance of magic as the work of Xi and the Dark Ones and against the nature of Anno the Light's Creation.
In order to return the Middle Lands to the way Anno intended, magic needs to be purged from the land. To do so the members of the Cleansing Light seek out and capture mages, torture them to find out where they keep any hidden magics, and the location of any other known mages, and then kill them. This hatred of magic has also bleed over into a distrust of non-Human races in particular, as it is known that many non-Humans use magic on a regular basis, especially Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes. Tieflings are of course the perfect example of Xi's corruption of magic and the world and the Cleansing Light believes that mages who use magic will eventually all be turned into Tieflings if they are not stopped first.
While the core membership consists mostly of former or current members of the Light Bringers, the Cleansing Light accepts any who willing to swear thier oaths to destroy magic in the Middle Lands.
