Keep Guards

The Keep Guards are personally selected by Baron Zazar Nocroth to defend Nocroth Keep and his family. The Keep Guards receive extra training, and are equipped better than the town Watch.

Composition

Manpower

The Keep Guard are a small unit of only 30 soldiers and 3 officers. They are the personal protectors of the Baron's family, and his Keep, although the Keep Guards are sometimes supplemented by the Watch, especially if the Baron leaves the city to survey his lands, or hunt gobbers.

Equipment

The Keep Guards are all equipped with chain shirts, shields, helmets, halberds and short swords. A number of them also carry crossbows or long bows.

Tactics

The Keep Guards primary mission is to protect the Baron and his family, so they will surround their patrons and try to withdraw from danger, while others will cover the retreat until the Baron is safely away.
