Nocroth Keep

The largest structure in Nedev, Nocroth Keep sits at the highest point on the bluff overlooking the the two rivers. The Keep was built to serve not only as a home but also as the stronghold for the town. It was one of the first stone buildings completed in the town and served as the main defensive point in the early days of the settlement.  The Keep has several large halls, and a large courtyard that housed the early settlers when the town was attacked.
With the completion of the town walls several years ago, the Keep has become less of e rally point for the town, and more of a home for the Baron and his family.  With the marriage to Budua Nocroth a few years ago, the Keep has undergone some additional changes to to make it more home like, including upgrades to the lord's and lady's apartments.

Purpose / Function

Nocroth Keep is the home of Baron Zazar Nocroth and his family. The keep also serves as a home for the various servants and the Keep Guards, Baron Nocroth's hand-selected soldiers.

Alterations

Baroness Budua Nocroth has updated the apartments in the Keep to make them more residential and less warlike, including the conversion of some space to servants quarters so that her maid and the baron's valet have rooms closer to them.

Architecture

Made of stone that has been quarried from a location upriver from the town, the Keep has solid, thick walls that are designed to protect against siege weapons.  The Keep is three stories high, plus an attic and a basement.  The roof is tile, and quite steep making it difficult to walk across.
