The Cirruan Empire

An Ancient Terror

The Cirruan Empire of old once dominated the entirety of Southern Raef. Existing pre-Age of Betrayal, the Cirruan Empire was a powerhouse that controlled even more territory than The Ravessian Empire. Believed to have descended upon Raef from The Null Realm, somewhere deep in this territory where the Null Realm connected with Astrala, the Cirruans devastated Raef with their supernatural psionic ability and their advanced technology. Thus began the Cirruan four-century-long reign of terror.

The Cirruan foothold began in AhinRaj and quickly spread northward. It is believed that the psionic abilities of The Ahin were inherited from centuries of Cirruan control. Indeed, the AhinRaj seems to contain the majority of Cirruan ruins and artifacts. One of these famous Cirruan ruins exists somewhere in the center of the Voracious Fields, and are called Vasdenak. These ruins are spread out all across Southern Raef in Korinthos, Silus, Xi'anZhou, Ravessus, Mashhad, Kursh, Aegea, and even Avalin. The Cirruans, apparently, never made it to Valklema or the Lost Continent.

Worshippers of Cir

The Cirruan Empire worshipped, primarily, Cir, the Cerebral Abyss. Cir is often depicted as a single huge eye in the center of a humanoid chest with six hands all with eyes in their palms. Cir lacks a mouth, but its psionic and telepathic command makes it more than capable of communication and domination. The Cirruan Empire was, supposedly, working towards summoning Cir to Raef from The Null Realm.

Cir was served by three great beings of psionic power and intellect called "The Heralds" of Cir. Serving the Heralds were the Voiceless Council, a collection of the best and brightest of the Cirruan Empire. It is unknown how the Cirruans were planning to bring back Cir, but remnants of their experiments and rituals can be found all across Raef.

Disbandment

The Empire of Cir was ruined at the beginning of the Age of Betrayal when the Gods of Order and Chaos, once one united council, rose up and defied the empire with their sworn paladins, clerics, and servants of power. This council would eventually disband.
