Land of the Old Faith

Aegea, the Land of the Old Gods as many call it, is a land owned by the Aegeans, fierce hoplite centaurs with a ferocity and skill unmatched in many of the southern lands of Loris. Aegea sits resting right up against the eastern border of Ravessus, the southwestern border of Mashhad, and the northwestern border of Korinthos. Aegea is a land of rolling hills, sweeping plains, long winding rivers, and interspersed forests. Resting against the North Sanctum Sea as well, Aegea is boxed in on all sides but it defends its borders well.

A fierce group of warriors among The Aegeans, called the Outriders, protect and guard the borders of Aegea. At the West, the Aegeans guard against The MagiBlight Plague. At the East, they guard against, the prying eyes of businessmen and philanthropists who see such sweeping lands as an abundance of wealth, space, and opportunity. A third invasion threatens the lands of Aegea though, a religious invasion of missionaries from Korinthos seeking to "restore" the heathen centaurs to the truth.

A Religious Anchor

Aegea serves as a final bastion of faith for the The Old Greek Gods. Here, Ares and Athena and Artemis are most popularly worshipped for swiftness, valor, and skill in combat. Far to the East, the city of Delphaea, holds the Oracle who serves as a mouthpiece for the insights into the future from Apollo. The capital of Aegea, Athenum, is a bastion of service to Athena and is ruled over by the Annex Heros Aegeas-Demos and the rest of the Aegean Council. The Aegeans, however, remain steadfast in their beliefs and are respectful of the missionaries of opposing beliefs, refusing to harm them, but generally deriding and mocking them.

Aegea remains one of the few remaining believers in the Old Gods. Alongside them stand those people of Valklema who worship the Old Norse Gods, the people of Silus worship the Old Egyptian Gods, and the Shellbacks of Midonai, the Reclusive Empire who worship the Old Japanese Gods. In this brotherhood, the worshippers of the Old Gods respect each other and hold a tenuous alliance of faith that the Old Gods will pull through.
