Personal history
Yafi was born in Lispert to a smith and his wife. As soon as she had grown old enough to be interested in boys, she was the most popular girl her age and directed the youth like a petty queen. The mountain city was her home and her fiefdom.
The old warrior's mansion rested atop the mountain that sheltered Lispert from the Badlands themselves. From this mansion, a boy caught Yafi's wandering eye. He was different from the local boys, and his discipline and trained athleticism were impossible to ignore. Their romance was wild and exciting, and Yafi was truly happy in a way that she just hadn't been as the object of desire for so many crass and useless boys.
It all came crashing down when her father sold her. The remnants of Hopewell operated on older assumptions. The harsh realities of life dealing with the Greenskins required careful balance and planning. Arranged marriages were common, and short courtships the norm. She was therefore engaged to Voort Theemur and married soon after, ending her whirlwind romance on the very day that Coltane's master was slain and his house burned to the ground.
