Mayor Kessler Ghostwise Shieldreaper (a.k.a. The Roaring Giant)
Kessler Shieldreaper is the well-respected halfling mayor of Alcedene. He is cunning, charismatic, and usually good natured, but most folks of adult age have seen him when he's angry, and it's known that he has a very effective mean streak when he feels that it's warranted.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Kessler Shieldreaper is average height for a halfling. You wouldn't know to look at him, but he's a touch heavy for his size, a consequence of his daily exercise routine.
Physical quirks
Due to a blow from a goblin's axe, Kessler's head sports a scar over his left temple and his left eye is blind and lazy.
Apparel & Accessories
Kessler dresses in exquisite style, much more expensively than his means would normally allow. He has at least one magic ring, but there's so much jewelry scattered around his person that one would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.

Personal history
Kessler grew up in the undertown, in a hollow beneath the Shieldreaper's townhouse. There was nothing particularly special about him, a middle child in a family of eight children, he became the leader of a merry little band of brothers and sisters through charisma and force of will. They were mainly known for playing pranks after lessons, and were a good-natured nuisance for a fair bit of time.
His Becoming was a simple affair, he took part in a harmless little raid of Sacqueline, where they stole the town standard undetected and brought it back for the trophy case. Alcedene held the standard for twelve years.
He became mayor after engaging a goblinoid raid as a partisan, softening them up for the Alcedene Balatar Militia. The prestige he earned and the clever handling of the town's Plutarchs secured a victory in a bid for mayor in 948. He has been mayor for so long now that nobody in living memory has attempted to run against him yet.
