The First Days

"At the start, nothing sat where we are now. Nothing but rolling chaos was anywhere. then came the Elder Ones; Rayabou, the Eternal wave; Feirrosa, The Essence of Flame; Balour, the Walking Bedrock; Aeriona, The Mother of Storms; Ythar The Start of All Breath; and Yona , The End of All. Where they came from, and where they were before is unknown to even the greatest sages.   It is said the Elder Ones wished to make a garden of delights. Balour first laid the foundations of the circle of the world, then Feirrosa filled the depths of it with flame and heat, Aeriona placed a dome of air upon it, and Rayabou filled the low places with seas. With the World made, Ythar filled it with living things; things that crawl, and fly; plants that grow, and mosses that lie motionless. When t.   Once the world was filled, an argument arose between the Elder Ones about how far life should go. the Elemental Lords thought that what they had already made was enough, but Yona and Ythar wished to make thinking beings. This argument escalated to become the War of the Elders.   Titanic battles were fought across the curve of the world, elementals clashed with the first peoples, the Beast Men, and for a while, it looked like the Elemental Lords would succeed. But life is pervasive, and the first peoples could make more of their own, and the elementals had to be crafted one at a time. Soon, the living greatly outnumbered those that have never known true life.   Once the Lords were defeated, The First Couple imprisoned them beneath the Great Shield and laid the Captive Sea over it to protect it from those that would try to release these ancient beings. In their antedulevian prison, the Elemental Lords still plot their revenge. That is why our kind does not travel the Captive Sea..."   -Long Whiskers, Matriarch of the Arcstrum colony.
