Reshal Sea

The Reshal Sea is a large body of water off the eastern coast of the continent of Kermoria. It is known for its rich biodiversity and diverse underwater geography, as well as being home to the multi-island nation of Qi'Reshalia and the underwater city-state of Delphcis.

Underwater Currents: The Flowing Pathways of the Reshal Sea

One of the unique features of the Reshal Sea is its network of powerful underwater currents. These currents are utilized by various underwater races, including merfolk, tritons, and naga, as a means of quick travel across the vast sea. This intricate system of currents is collectively known as the "Flowing Pathways."   The origins of the Flowing Pathways are shrouded in mystery. Some speculate that the currents are a natural occurrence, formed over time by the churning forces of the sea. Others believe that the currents are the result of deep, old magic that draws its power from the Elemental Plane of Water.   Regardless of their origins, the Flowing Pathways are a vital means of transportation for the underwater races of the Reshal Sea. These currents can carry a swimmer hundreds of miles in a matter of hours, making it possible for even the most distant communities to remain connected.   Navigating the Flowing Pathways requires a great deal of skill and knowledge. Currents can shift and change unexpectedly, and some can be dangerous or even deadly. Experienced swimmers can sense the subtle shifts in the currents and adjust their course accordingly, but those who are unfamiliar with the Flowing Pathways are advised to seek the guidance of a local guide.

Qi'Reshalia

The Reshal Sea is home to the multi-island nation of Qi'Reshalia, which is part of the Empire of Therengia. Qi'Reshalia is known for its skilled seafarers and powerful navy, which is tasked with protecting the empire's interests in the sea. The people of Qi'Reshalia are known for their fierce independence and love of the sea, and have a strong culture of fishing, trading, and shipbuilding.

Shipwrecks

The Reshal Sea is known for its treacherous waters, and many ships have met their demise in its depths over the years. Two notable shipwrecks are the Ironclad, a dwarven warship that sank in 209 after a ferocious battle with Red Sash Pirates. The ship was carrying a significant amount of treasure when it went down, and many treasure hunters have searched for its remains over the years. However, the treacherous waters and dangerous sea creatures have made the search for the Ironclad a perilous undertaking.   Siren's Call, a merchant ship that sank during a fierce storm while on its way from Qi'Reshalia, was lost in 216. The ship was carrying a valuable cargo of spices and silk from the eastern islands. Many rumors surround the wreck, with some claiming that the ship was cursed by a sea witch and others believing that it was attacked by a sea monster.

Delphcis

At the heart of the Reshal Sea lies Delphcis, an underwater city-state that is home to water genasi, merfolk, naga, and other aquatic races. The city is known for its stunning architecture and advanced technology, which allows its inhabitants to breathe and move freely underwater. Delphcis is ruled by a council of elders, and has a strong culture of art, music, and science. The city is also known for its powerful magic, which is said to be derived from the ancient artifacts and relics that lie hidden in its depths.

Geography

The Reshal Sea is known for its unique and diverse geography. The sea is home to many underwater canyons, gorges, and cave systems, as well as several small islands and archipelagos. These underwater formations provide habitats for a wide variety of marine life, including exotic and rare species.

The sea floor of Reshal is marked by numerous ridges and trenches that run parallel to the coastline. One of the most notable underwater features is the Reshal Trench, which runs along the western edge of the sea and is one of the deepest known points in Kermorian waters. The trench is home to a variety of deep-sea creatures, including giant squid and bioluminescent jellyfish.

The underwater caves and canyons of Reshal are also of particular interest to divers and adventurers. These natural formations create a unique and mysterious underwater landscape, filled with dark corners and hidden passageways. Some of the most famous underwater caves include the Cavern of Shadows and the Crystal Caves. These caves are known for their stunning crystal formations and unique ecosystems.

In addition to the caves and trenches, Reshal also features several underwater plateaus and ridges. These plateaus provide important feeding grounds for a variety of marine life, including whales, sharks, and dolphins. The Reshal Ridge is one such plateau that runs along the eastern edge of the sea and is known for its rich biodiversity.
