Valgur
A species of Near-Human, valgurs are set apart by their striped skins and branching horns. Though sometimes confused for ihkts, the two species share little similarity beyond both being horned Near-Humans. And even on that front, the similarities are surface-level only, with ihkts having highly diverse horns, while valgurs only have branching horns.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Like all Near-Humans, valgurs have base anatomy very similar to that of a human. Their physique tends to be wiry but muscular, with especially strong musles in the neck and shoulders, which help carry the weight of their horns. They're on the taller end of the spectrum compared to baseline humans, but are not extremely tall compared to the full range of possibilities--or other, actually tall, species.
Anatomically, the main difference between the anatomy of a valgur and a baseline human is in the horns. Valgurs begin growing their single pair of horns at a young age, and continue to grow them over the duration of their entire life, although growth slows down once they hit maturity and become adults. Their horns tend to be sweeping in shape, growing at least one tine before hitting adult size. Unlike the tines on deer antlers, however, the tines on a valgur's horns tend to be fairly small in size, forming spikes off of the main horn, rather than growing into a full branching antler.
Though sometimes confused with ihkts, valgurs lack most of an ihkts more inhuman traits, including their split tongue, fangs, and most noticeably, their tail.
Valgurs tend to have an inhuman and desaturated skintone, often appearing grayish in color. They have broad stripes marking their skins, varying highly among individuals, but which are typically pale in color (such as white or light blue). Their hair is often dark and grayish in color, and horns are pale and bone-colored. The one exception to this dull color scheme are their eyes, which tend to be bright and warmy colored (such as yellow, gold, orange, red, or brown).
