Byotta

A fragile-looking species of Near-Human, byottas are tall pale-skinned humanoids with mildly reptilian traits.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Byottas are naturally delicate-looking, with slender builds and thin limbs. This apparent fragility is carried on to the head, where their mildly reptilian facial features make them look somewhat emaciated. They lack hair altogether, being completely bald, and don't grow body hair either.
Overall, most of a byotta's alien traits comes from their slightly different proportions, with even the more reptilian facial features being fairly subtle. The only clearly noticeable alien trait of theirs are their eyes: strikingly reptilian, with a thin slit pupil. Their irises are copper-colored, and often appear strangely metallic.
Byottas are naturally pale-skinned, and don't tan much. Extreme sun exposure, whether in large amounts or to a strong sun, will easily lead to sunburns, or even more severe damage.

Civilization and Culture

History

Byottas are an unrooted species: their planet of origin, known as Catti, has disappeared at some point in the distant past. If the cause of its disappearance was ever known, it has since been lost to time. There are questions about whether the oldest inhabited system of the byottas is their system of origin, with only Catti disappearing, or if the entire system has been lost, and their oldest homes are simply the first they settled after their displacement.
