Slvok

“On a hill is a small village the buildings are simple wood and stone structures, a degraded wooden palisade marked the boundaries of the town.   Following the road heading into the centre of town, I notice two great oak doors either side of the road, half of the great gates are overgrown being swallowed by poisonous thorns that drip with a purple liquid. I noticed one of the gates had 4 thick claw marks, evidence of some previous assault. In the town, I saw torches lit which burned green and blue and upon further inspection, I noticed a few locals who are talking in hushed tones as they acknowledged my arrival. They seemed to turn their heads avoiding eye contact and scuttled away as I drew closer to them.   In the centre of town, there was a large tree, 15 feet in diameter and over 60 feet tall, its branches were twisted and dead, the tree had carved runes in it (druidic runes that spoke of protection and sacrifice) that were painted over in a dry crimson colour, the paint looked fresh though. Hung from it, several Whirligigs each had some sort of damage, broken bars and ripped off doors. Around the tree, several guards who wield spears and swords patrolled the perimeter of the tree, their faces concealed by a green piece of fabric.”

It is a forest covered in a permanent layer of fog which houses monstrous creatures of the night, who prey upon the forest's inhabitants.
