With a rough upbringing and having faced heavy predjudice against her origins upon reaching Etude to begin her studies as an Invokhier, Marleam often conceals personal information from those she meets as an old defense against losing out or being looked down on. Despite her currently high status among the entire Dannamore organization, she continues to keep to herself more than is necessary or useful.

Due to her personal experience of being relegated to the back rows, Marleam quietly provides additional support to any students or trainees she encounters that belong to maligned or marginalized groups; outlanders, half-elves, and especially other Clavians. This 'additional support' is never overt but can sometimes be quite substancial. As an example; in the past Marleam arranged for a heblin student to 'find' a document that detailed the sordid lineage of her bigot bully, silencing the inbred thug and forcing him to leave the clever young woman in peace to focus on her education.

Being respected yet incredibly stoic, Marleam has trained herself well in hiding all signs of who she is or where she's from. This includes intentionally speaking with a strong, clear tone at all times to hide the commonly looked-down on accent from growing up in the comparatively rustic capital of Clavier. Their accents are often perceived as difficult to understand and for many reasons she's decided to keep her accent and heritage from plain view, believing that her students may not respect her due to inherent predjudices.

Marleam is also a master orator and has trained her voice with many gifted researchers to strengthen her vocal cords and projection to seemingly supernatural levels. She can immitate voices with great accuracy, without the aid of arcana, which is a talent she learned decades ago during her time as a scribe. Only her closest friends know of this ability and she keeps it secret to ensure it's usefulness.
