Crystal sceptre

The crystal sceptre was a symbol of the power of The Dragon Monarchy, especially of Queen Soovi.

The history of the sceptre

The sceptre was a translucent purplish crystal about as long as her forearm. She wielded it as a sceptre and anyone she pointed it at knew they were in trouble. During battles it glowed and provided her with a protective sphere around her. This was especially useful when she appeared as a human, rather than as a dragon.

It was given to the dragons as a symbol of their rule and is linked to their bloodline. As long as there are dragons on Kaitstud then they have the right to wield the sceptre to protect the Golden Tree.

When the dragons were overthrown the crystal was lost. Only stories of it and its magical properties were left.

Using the crystal sceptre

Soovi wielded it as a lance, and took it with her whenever she travelled round Kaitstud.

When any dragon first shifted into their human form they were given the sceptre to hold. This means that the crystal recognised all the dragons. Anyone else was unable to hold the sceptre as it burnt them.
