ENACorp Factory Building / Landmark in Kaiter | World Anvil

ENACorp Factory

ENACorp Factory is located in the southwestern outskirts of Gromont. It was rediscovered by the Discovery Corps during the Dreia and Leda Expedition in 75 AD. Early after its discovery, it became a favored location for salvagers, offering a large surplus of metals, technologies, and other supplies. After five years of salvaging efforts, very little worthwhile salvage remained easily accessible in the factory. However, more destroyed portions of the factory buildings likely still contain treasures for any who are brave enough to enter and lucky enough to make it out alive.

Purpose / Function

Prior to the Disaster, ENACorp Factory was the world's most advanced manufacturer of agricultural machines, including tractors, harvesters, seed drills, and other large equipment.

Architecture

The factory includes an office building and three large manufacturing buildings. The buildings have largely been buried in ice and snow, and are considered dangerous to explore due to collapsed supports and ceilings.   When it was built, the office building was a 12-story building constructed primarily from steel with an exterior made up of sleek black glass and steel, with an additional three stories underground that were used for parking and storage. It had originally featured a large open lobby area on the first floor, with a concierge area, restrooms, a large gym, and two dining areas. Two elevator shafts exist in the center of the building, as well as an emergency staircase that leads up to the twelfth floor. The second and third floors contained large meeting spaces, conference rooms, and more restrooms. Floors 4-12 had been designated as office spaces, containing long hallways lined with small office rooms, conference rooms, and yet more restrooms. Much of this area is inaccessible today, as many of the higher floors have begun to collapse down into the lower floors. The basement areas are somewhat accessible through tunnels created by salvage teams.   The three manufacturing buildings are identical. Each is three stories tall, constructed of steel and concrete. Inside the buildings are big open spaces that take up the full three stories, with large concrete supports lined up in even intervals. Narrow walkways lined with guard rails circle the inside of the walls at the 2nd and 3rd-floor levels, with small glass offices located against the western wall of each building. As of the last scan conducted in 220 AD, only one of the three buildings was still standing with most supports in place. The other two were mostly collapsed with few standing supports.

History

ENACorp was a major employer in Gromont, employing nearly 3000 people before the Disaster. In the weeks leading up to the Disaster, Gromont suspended all production and laid off all employees. As Gromont fell into anarchy as the predicted Disaster date grew closer, ENACorp was the target of looting and raids as people raced to stockpile items (i.e. toilet paper, office snacks, tools, and building supplies) for the coming catastrophe.
Library of IFERA's Engineering Corps builds snow vehicles like the one shown above, using salvaged ENACorp tractors recovered from the factory and surrounding areas.

The Name

ENACorp was derived from the full company name, Eddison iNnovative Agriculture Corporation. ENACorp was founded by Brian Eddison in 112 BD for the purpose of designing innovative farming machines to support the agriculture industry across Kaiter.
