Eldest son of Arthindon and Olysenna

Arlyth was a proud and headstrong youth, very much like his father Arthindon. Unlike his father however, Arlyth was close to and protective of his mother, Olysenna.
Raised to be a warrior he was too young to take the field during the time of the Deeper Darkness but he kept to his training and showed promise of being as fine a swordsman and captain as his father, but it was not to be.
Taking part in a tournament of arms in 857 a clash of lances ended with his horse crushing him as it fell, and a broken lance driven through Arlyth's armour and into his lung. He died shortly afterward, the skills of healers being unable to save him. It is reported that when news of Arlyth's death was brought to his father, Arthindon's curt reply was that his son had always neglected to properly guard his flank during a charge. This cold posthumous rebuke may be apocryphal however for despite Arlyth being Olysenna's particular favourite there is no suggestion that his father did not care for him. In fact Arlyth's death marked the beginning of Arthindon's decline into heavier drinking and recklessness that led to his own death three years later in 860
