Greg

A little too good when it comes to cast elemental magic, but responsible enough that nobody worries about it.   He's not often sure how to start a conversation with strangers, and prefers to stay out of the way. Nevertheless, in any circumstances that facilitate or require interaction, he ends up making friends without trouble.

Personal history

Gregory's Mother was the descendant of a wizard who had left the The Two Families after his farewell. She would have never found out about that the stories about magic in her family where true if she hasn't been married with the kind of person who believe that kind of things or if they hadn't been desperate to have a child.   While wizards refused to help them to change the course of nature, they gave them a home when they were at their darkest time. Years later, when their only child was born, the couple was happy to raise him as part of the community that has supported them so far.   Being an only child and born after such hardships, he was very loved and a little spoiled by his parents. But they were quite strict when it came to the use of magic, and he always remembers to be careful and respect the restrictions.

Morality & Philosophy

He thinks of the laws as a way to make life easier for everyone, even if they restrict what he can do. It's a bit difficult to be responsible with his magic all the time, but it's worth it. At least, that's what several generations of Keepers and their Judges had decided, and it's not his place to question them, right?   AS for the few rules that aren't followed in the distant town where the wizards live, he knows enough about it to do his job in other cities without getting in trouble, again, he's not interested in judging how the law works.   Neither is he interested in judging the people who decides not to follow the rules, and yet, because he's convinced that it's the best for everyone, he took part in the banning ritual to restrain Margareth. It was hard to do, and to this day he still feels like it's some kind of treason.

History

Fred and Gregory met at school, during lunch. They don't remember when they became best friends.

Relationship Reasoning

Since Gregory was so fast to make friends and a little bit older than Fred, he has plenty of friends other than him.   Fred didn't established any other real friendship, even when he is in good terms with several people. Therefore, Fred has their friendship in a more important place. But they care for and think highly of each other just the same.
