Earthing

Earthing is the uncommon Gifted power that controls the ground. This includes lifting rocks, moving dirt, and even transforming stone into soil or similar.

Effect

Earthlings are rather powerful Gifteds. Their power gives them control over the very earth, allowing them to manipulate rocks, dirt, and stone. Many Earthlings are strong enough to change the matter of things

under their domain, such as making granite into slate or iron-rich soil into clay. Powerful Earthlings can also split solid rock and create earthquakes.
There are many things Earthlings can do with their power. Some have been said to sense the positioning of armies and even detect lies. Although it is true that blind Earthlings can use their power to navigate and find people, the other claims are probably exaggerations. Earthlings are primarily employed in agriculture, construction, and transportation. More powerful Earthlings are sometimes employed in other jobs such as sculpting, landscaping, and earthquake detection and prevention.

Side/Secondary Effects

Unlike most Gifteds, Earthlings are unaffected by the normal (or any) Gifted Downsides. They are some of the only Gifteds to be so. Many theories as to why exist, with the most common being the powers' steadiness, as opposed to others' volatile nature.

Manifestation

Like Aquacity, Earthing is almost always visible. If the manipulation cannot be seen, the effect usually is. Common signs of Earthing are rocks moving, dirt swirling, and occasionally the ground shaking.

Discovery

Earthing was discovered close to the same time as Plantity, around 650-700 BEA. It could have been earlier, but records are frustratingly vague.

Applied Restrictions

Earthing, like most Gifted powers, has very few restrictions aside from training requirements. Countries with anti-Gifted laws heavily control Earthlings, along with Flamers.
