A long time ago, One of Sky looked beyond the stars and fell in love with One of Earth. Of two worlds they were, but they each knew love; and so, they took that which they needed to live - to grow - to become the Two that are One.   To break taboo they became outcasts, taking to water to become lost among the waves. In time, they became many. Always taking what they needed, but never giving in return. It took Earth's Sky to show them a better way. Not only to take what they needed, but to trade when they had too much. To find a cause amongst the people of the waves. To have friends become family. In time, Earth's Sky became family, and so came the Three that are One.   Our family is made of the Two and the Three. We are a family of skies and of land, but our home is where the water rolls. We are viebreakers, outsiders, and a bloodline of thieves, but we can be better if we choose to be. Your path is your own, little one; you decide the road you take, just like the ink you trace upon your skin.
Let's just start off by saying, Lonjdails are insane. Not one will tell a story the same way twice. They will blow things out of proportion, then promptly omit anything that they didn't deem important, or that puts them in a bad light. They will do next to anything for a dare and show little care for anyone that isn't a part of their family. They are an awful bunch of lairs, thieves, and ne'er-do-wells; and yet, to have one on your side means you'll have an army at your back.   Lonjdails, sometimes calling themselves Longtales or Fibtales, have a lengthy history among the islands of Zoen. It isn't uncommon to find them among pirate ships, serving as story tellers and careful lookouts. They've even taken to Coldol lifestyle rather well, becoming quite gifted in metal crafting and adapting to Zoendol traditions. The thing that seems most perplexing about them is that hardly anyone knows where they keep coming from, or how there are so many.

Breeders Lottery of Ramea

It's often hypothesized that, generations ago, the first Lonjdails managed to get hold of a shipment of reproductive medication that was meant for the Coldol Empire. Alternatively, some speculate they may have gotten the equipment necessary to actually produce the drug itself. No Lonjdail has ever revealed how they have come to possess such a supply of said drugs, though they have offered, for a small fee, to include captors into what they call a "breeders lottery."   This 'lottery' appears to happen once every three to five years on a collection of islands named Ramea. These lotteries take place over three days with much in the way of trade, celebration, and fanfare. Winners of the lottery, while small in number, are well taken care of - offered more then just the medication to bare a child, receiving gifts and wealth to help their new family thrive.   With the breeders lottery, there seems to be more than just the pirate's way of life. Many skilled midwives and witchdoctors have come from Lonjdail stock. Smaller communities, wherein birthing rights are granted, do well to have a Lonjdail among them.

The Two that are One

Often taller and more slender then their cousins, these Lonjdails are the descendants of Benuov and Dejuvi. Children born of this family tend to have stronger wings, longer tails and, more often then not, have beaks and scaly legs. Wings and fur colour tend to be varying shades of brown and white, occasionally with black hair and feathers.

Bloodline

This family line is typically smaller in number, regulating their bloodline to strictly remain joined to Benuov and Dejuvi.

Attitude and Leanings

Known for being prideful and arrogant, conflicts between the Two and the Three are common when it comes to family debate. Lonjdails of this family tend to be more adventurous then their cousins, many taking to the seas to become sailors and lookouts.

The Three that are One

Long ears, feathered or leathery wings, and long tails mark these descendants of Benuov, Dejuvi, and Benuvi. Often shorter and stockier then their cousins, this family is far more varied in appearance and personality. Though Dejuvi facial characteristics are most common for these Lonjdails, they can look like any of the races that complete them. Wing and fur colour tend to be varying shades of brown and white, but blonde to red hair and feathers are not unheard of.

Bloodline

This family line does not restrict its size or bloodline, though no known offspring have come from families outside of Benuov/uvi and Dejuvi.

Attitude and Leanings

Lonjdails of this family tend to be more studious then their cousins, many becoming skilled midwives and witchdoctors; though, with so many of them, it's not uncommon to see them among ships as lore-keepers and pilots. Those that have taken to Coldol life have also found a great amount of skill in metalworking. One such group of blacksmiths has taken the name of Irontail to note their skill at the forge.

Irontail's Gift

Easily one of the most notable family lines of the Three that are One is the family of metalsmiths that have taken the name Irontail. Famous for their skill in not only jewelry production but also the forging of fine weapons, particularly bows, Irontails have created a fortune for themselves thanks to their talents and keen eye for finance.   For a price, anyone can be educated in the way of the forge by an Irontail; but only those who are themselves Lonjdails may truly know the price they must pay to gain the Irontail's Gift - a heavy metal tail band plated in precious metal and gems, which is granted only to those that give a year's salary for their education and training.
But, to keep this Gift, one must continue to pay into the Irontail's foundation. It is actually this foundation that supports the Breeders Lottery and a number of Lonjdail investments in Coldol.   Irontails seek not only wealth, but information; be it new or ancient. They wish to know the past and the present so that they may prepare for the future. Those that wish to be granted the gift are expected to regularly provide income and any knowledge they acquire to the Irontails. By making these payments, those granted the gift are allowed access to knowledge and favor with the Irontails. If one finds themselves in need for any reason, be it for welfare or war, they need only to send word to the islands of Ramea, along with their metal band as proof that they have been granted a boon.   To call upon an Irontail's Gift is a serious request that is not taken lightly. Few have ever called for this favor and even fewer have used it for war. One record still remains of a favor used during the foundation of the Coldol Empire. The number of Lonjdails that answered to this Gift's call has left many historians of Jaumun Federation lore astounded by the sheer population of viebreakers that claim Zoen islands as their own.

Taboo perhaps for a Reason

Though practically unseen to the Two that are One, their cousins of Three have seen a number of oddities in the last century. Though many children are born of healthy parents, mutations and stillbirths have risen in commonality. At one stage, wings were one of the key factors in naming a child a Lonjdail; but, over the years, it has become more common for children to have stunted wings, or no wings at all. It's become the belief of the families that, due to the mixing of so many bloodlines, they have developed some sort of sickness that is passed down to the children. Others suggest a correlation to an event that happened several generations ago, where the bloated corpse of a Colossi washed up onto the shores of Ramea.

Mutations

Common among the younger generations of the Three, it is not unheard of for children to be born with extra toes or fingers, and, on occasion, double sets of ears. Stunted wings are the most common mutation currently documented.
Mudblood: A new disease, at least for the Lonjdails, that is still not fully understood. Though most Lonjdails have blood colours similar to their respective ancestors, some recent individuals of middle age have found their blood to have changed to a sickly brownish green or off yellow. Currently little is understood of this disorder, but those that have it tend to develop terrible ailments as the disease runs its course. There has been some study in using Cryosynth as a treatment, however little information is currently available on its results.

We are the two and the three. The land that kissed the skies.
