A range of sports preformed with a hoop(or hoops), called a Compass. The Compass if oftentimes a bit larger than the performer or participant. These sports are very popular on the space stations, but are also well enjoyed on both planets, and sometimes simulated in The Source as a way for a programmer to show off their skills.   The Compass was originally invented by a member of the The Gloriously Confounding Galahad and Ciero Gallivanting Circus as a performance instrument. It's common practice for a serious Compass performer to create their own Compass, as well as maintain it. Though they are available in many fine craft shops on Zavi. A compass is typically made from Bure.   Compass performers are called 'The Force of the Compass'. Often shortened to Force.   Most Compass sports, when competitive, follow the same basic rule and points based structure when it comes to being judged. The may differences are the move sets involved. There are two types of performances, Called and Freeform.

Called

Called routine is comprised of a set of moved that all Force in the competition must preform, in the same order. They're then evaluated on presence and technical performance. Deductions are made for mistakes. The maximum score one can receive is a 9.

Freeform

Freefrom on the other hand, as the name suggests, lets the Force decide what moves they wish to preform in what ever order they desire. They will be judged on the difficulty of the move, the precision in its execution, and how well it flowed from the last move. Moves are ranked by difficulty, 1-9, and points are deducted for mistakes.

Additional Rules

The upkeep of equipment, manners of the Force, and costume presentation all play an important role as well.
There are four major types of compass sports, each with their own unique moves and compass.
They are, Twist, Braid, Curve, and Coil.

Twist

Twist involves small compass that the Force twists around their body. Sometimes several will be used, depending on the performance.
