Interstellar Federation

The Interstellar Federation is the largest political, economic, and scientific entity in the galaxy. Headquartered in the Rigel System (part of Orion's Belt), the Federation's influence extends to all the arms of the Milky Way, with the exception of a swath of the Scutum–Centaurus Arm, which is dominated by the R̂eg̈r̊ü Empire.

Military

The Federal Navy is the primary offensive and defensive organ of the Federation; consisting of six cohesive fleets of mixed vessel classes for targeted campaigns and two auxiliary fleets of 'cruiser' vessels for independent patrol and exploration duties. Ground forces are minimal, as destruction of planetary biospheres is generally prohibited without the explicit permission of the Federal Council.
