The ambassador is considered a dignitary of high importance; having direct access to the Federal President and reporting in-person to the Federal Council as well as the government(s) of candidate civilizations.  Ambassadors are typically persons of importance in their cultures of origin; such as princes, vice-presidents, prime ministers, etc.
