Federal President

Qualifications

• Citizen of a Federation civilization
• At least 10 Earth-Years of service in representative (non-hereditary) politics
• Served at least one term on the Federal Council

Appointment

Elected by the Federal Council with a 5/7 majority.  At least 9/10ths of the Council must vote for a valid election.

Responsibilities

• Implementing policies set forth by the Council
• Representing the Federation during diplomatic activities
• Commander of the Federation Forces

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Impeachment by a simple majority of the Federal Council, followed by a trial before the Interstellar Court of Adjudication.  If convicted, the President is dismissed.
